Good morning & have a blessed day, STEPS OF ASPIRATION Swami Sivananda To grow a little wiser every day, to teach our mind and body to obey, to keep our inner lives both clean and strong, to free our lives from sin, our hands from wrong. To shut the door on hate and scorn and pride, to open it to love, the window wide, to meet with cheerful hearts what comes to us. To change life’s discord into harmony, to share some worker’s heavy load, to guide some straying comrade on the road, to know that what we have is not our own. To feel that we are never quite alone. This shall we pray from day to day, for then we know this life will grow. Good conduct, pure and truthful dealings, good character, ethical perfection, cultivation of divine virtues form the very heart and soul of all religions of the world. True Dharma does not oppose any other religion. - Swami Sivananda There is this urgency. While death is certain, we do not know when it will come. Its coming is uncertain. Therefore, we cannot afford to play with this truth, with this fact that one day our life must come to an end. We cannot play with this fact. It should be ever before us, and in its light, we must live our life. Be up and doing, not sleeping and slumbering. You must be awake. When Gurudev outlined to us one day the easy path to God-realization, he said: “Eradicate negative qualities; cultivate positive, virtuous qualities. That is number one. Number two, remember God constantly, even in the midst of your activity. Number three, dedicate all your actions to God”. Gurudev said that this was the easy, sure and unfailing path to God- realization. It is not a work. It is a pleasant task. It is a constructive creative task. It should give you the greatest joy, the greatest pleasure to engage in this process of reconstructing, recreating yourself, being reborn into a new dimension, a new consciousness. What greater thrill can there be than this adventure of transforming your life, transforming your entire self into a new being, a shining, radiant, liberated, joyful new being? Therefore this is recommended.
