Good morning & have a blessed day,
THE HIGHEST BLESSING
Swami Sivananda
Be detached. Have a poised mind. Keep company with the Sages, be
righteous and harmonious. Meditate regularly. Serve the poor, serve
the Guru and the saints. Serve humanity. Be contented, be humble, be
pure, be serene, be kind. Be good, do good and think good. Aspire
intensely. Be thirsty for love of God. Grow in longing. Learn to walk
on the way of love. The way of Guru-Bhakti. The way of Guru-Seva. You
will obtain divine grace. You will have a joy-filling experience. You
will feel the thrill of divine love. This is the highest blessing.
The essence of discipleship, the essence of being a true follower of
any great teacher, is,
therefore, the awareness of the presence of that teacheróboth as an
ideal as well as a teaching, both
as a light upon the path as well as the path. For the teacherís
upadesa
, his spiritual instructions, his
wisdom teachings, shed light upon the path. And the teacherís life, by
embodying all that is lofty
and sublime, all that is noble and spiritual, becomes the way: ìI
should live even as my teacher
lived. I should walk and talk even as he taught by the way he walked
and talked.î

We are great, not because we are something to the world but because we
are something in ourselves, even if the whole world is not to exist at
all.
