YOGA OF SELFLESS SERVICE

What is the object of service? Why should one serve the poor and the needy and the suffering humanity at large? Why should one serve the society and the country? Yes, by doing service you purify your heart. Egoism, hatred, jealousy, superiority-complex and all the kindred negative qualities are eradicated. Humility, pure love, sympathy, tolerance and mercy are developed. Sense of separateness is annihilated. Selfishness is removed. You get a broad and liberal outlook on life. You begin to feel oneness and unity of existence. Eventually, you obtain knowledge of the Self. You realize the One in all and the all in One. You feel limitless joy. What is society, after all? It is nothing but a collection of units of individuals. World is nothing but a manifestation of God. Service of humanity and the country is, in fact, nothing short of service of God. Service is worship. But one should serve with love. Then only can he have quick realization and purification of heart. 

Think often of God by day and by night. He is always near you and with you. He dwells in the chambers of your heart.
