THE GREAT LIBERATION
Swami SivanandaWhen the unchangeable Brahman is realized, and when ignorance is destroyed, final emancipation is attained. It is only through dauntless energy that the supreme wealth of Moksha can be acquired. True emancipation results from the disenthralment of the mind. The liberated soul enters God in Moksha, just as the owner of a house enters his home. Through the sacrifice of the ego, the goal of life, Self-realization, is attained. This is the loyal road to Moksha. The state of Moksha is not attainable elsewhere but here on this earth. Moksha is freedom. Moksha is eternity. It is not a status to be produced or newly acquired.
Through Paropakara (doing good to others) you worship the one Supreme Lord residing in
the hearts of all, for “Eko Devah Sarvabhuteshu Gudhah”—the one Lord hides in all beings.
So bear sympathy for the poor and try to see Him through the humblest of His creation.
As to our Antaranga Jivan (internal living), it should be one of Yogic life, living in constant
awareness of your divine relationship.
