ANGER Swami Sivananda Anger is a modification that arises in the mind-lake when passion and inertia predominate. It is a wave of unpleasant feeling that arises from within when one gets displeased with another. It is, in other words, a modification of desire or passion. Just as milk is changed into curd, so also desire or passion becomes changed into anger. It is a most formidable enemy of peace, knowledge and devotion. Anger resides in the astral body but it percolates into the physical body just as water percolates through the pores to the outer surface of an earthen pot. Just as heat melts lead, just as heat and borax melt gold, so also passion and anger, the two main qualities of the mind, melt its shape. Ever feel the presence of God. Know that God is merciful and kind. There is no end to His mercy. He is Kama Dhenu. Whatever you ask, He will give you. Have intense faith in Him. Acquire this faith by regular prayer and worship. Have fixed hours for prayer and Japa. Even during office hours feel that you are doing His worship Swami Chidananda Knowing Brahman is being Brahman. Knowing Reality is being Reality.
