CHAITRA NAVA RATRI
The 4th night begins the
worship of Meri Maiya Kushmanda, possessed of eight arms, holding
weapons and a mala or rosary. Her aura and illumination of body is like
Sun itself. She illuminates all the ten directions. All the bodies and
beings of Universe derive power from her. As has eight arms, so she is
also known as Ashtbhuja Devi (meaning Devi with eight arms). Seven of
which are holding different types of weapons and a Rosary is in her
right hand. She seems brilliant riding on a Lion.
