Charity is not merely giving a little money to the poor. True charity is forgiving one who offends you—any number of times. An aspirant who wants to grow in saintliness should cultivate desirelessness, purity and selflessness. It is the extent to which he grows in these three cardinal virtues that decides the degree of his spiritual progress. What is it that is outside us? What is there above us? What is it within us? What is this world What is God? What is Soul? Only a saint knows the reality of the answer. The great injunction of the ancient seers and sages of transcendental experience has always been to uphold the spiritual sanctity and the unity of life. Life is sacred. In sacredness it should be lived.

Practising the teachings of and thinking constantly of saints, you will become a saint yourself. Saints try to fulfil the will of God. They alone can understand what is the will of God. Their thoughts pervade the whole earth and fill the hearts of all receptive beings. Divine thoughts generated by saints preserve spiritual sanctity in the world.  Be like a rare fragrant flower in this garden of God which you call the world. CONQUEST OF ANGER

Anger is the worst fire. It burns your heart. Extinguish this fire through enquiry, love, forgiveness, and patience. Try to govern your temper. Control your anger. Anger is the enemy of devotion, peace and wisdom. Anger takes its origin from covetousness. It disappears through forgiveness. Anger begets many vices such as injustice, violence, harshness, murder, quarrel, fighting, etc. From covetousness originates anger; from covetousness grows lust.

Perfect serenity, cultivation of divine virtues, entertaining holy thoughts, discipline of diet — all these pave the way to success along spiritual path.

Start the day with prayer and Japa of the Divine Name. Follow this by little exercises and

deep breathing. Remember God at all times, everywhere. You need not be a Yogi but you must be

an Aadarsha-Purusha. Your personality must shine with a radiant light of great qualities. Virtue

PRACTICAL SPIRITUALITY

Jesus was absorbed in the task of showing unto mankind a way out of this mundane life and attaining Eternal Bliss. He came to save man from this ocean of birth-death existence and to take them across to the other shore of Immortal Life. Therefore He preached the gospel of practical spirituality. Leaving aside all abstruse philosophical theory and subtle intellectual researches, Jesus told man how he must live, what he must think, what he must feel, and what he must do. To do this he clothed even the highest truths of spiritual life with simple stories and parables, which even the common man in the street could easily grasp and comprehend. Couched in the form of simple parables, the deepest wisdom of spiritual life became expressed before man, through the sweet and blessed words of Divine Jesus. Innumerable are the divine admonitions of Christ. Even a consideration of a select few of them would help to throw a great deal of light upon the path towards the attainment of the spiritual goal.

Life is precious. Therefore, spend your time in useful pursuits. Set apart sometime during
the course of the day for prayer and worship. Feel the presence of the Lord wherever you go for He
is everywhere. He is closer than our breath and nearer than our hands and feet. He is in you and you

are in Him. Always abide in Himami
