MESSAGE FOR CONTEMPLATION.68
Radhe krishna,
Good morning and have a blessed day,
NAMA SANKIRTAN
Swami Sivananda
There
is no Yagna greater than Akhanda Kirtan. In Kali Yuga a well-conducted
Akhanda Kirtan tantamounts to one hundred Aswamedha sacrifices If you
weigh the fruit obtained by conducting an Akhanda Kirtan in one scale
and the fruit of one hundred AswamedhaYagnas in the other scale the
former will go down. This is especially suited for this iron age. It
does not cost you anything. At the end of Dwapara Yuga sage Narada went
to Brahma and wanted to know the easiest means of crossing the ocean of
Samsar in the Kali age. Brahma replied that by repetition of the
Mahamantra – “Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare, Hare Krishna Hare
Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare” consisting of 16 names a man can
easily get over the Samsar. The sixteen names are those mentioned above.
This means that we have to have a deep desire,
subheccha
, to put whatever we have been
granted to the highest use, to do all that is necessary-unreservedly, without hesitation, without
laziness or lethargy-to labour hard, to provide it with that triggering factor, and to do all that is
necessary to bring out what it is capable of bringing out. And this body, this human personality is a
field capable of producing a rich golden harvest provided we diligently work upon it and put to the
highest and best use whatever it has received.
Swami Chidananda.
The field of battle is the field of life. The things that we
want to do in this world are the confrontations before us and our wisdom
will be judged by the manner in which we deal with these situations.
