 MESSAGE FOR CONTEMPLATION 1213

Radhe krishna,
Have a blessed day,

PRACTICE OF MEDITATION

Swami Sivananda
Meditation is an unbroken flow of thought of the object on which one meditates. Meditation follows concentration. Concentration merges in meditation. Meditation is the seventh step in the ladder of Yoga. Concentration, meditation and super-consciousness are the last three stages in Raja Yoga. When you practise concentration and meditation, you are aiming at the attainment of a state of super-consciousness in which you have union with God. Meditation is freeing the mind from all thoughts of sense-objects. The mind should dwell on God alone during meditation.

Time is life. Time is more precious than the most valuable thing in this world. time ill-spent is life wasted away. Make the best use of time.

- Swami Sivananda
Dharma includes all external deeds as well as thoughts and other mental practices which

tend to elevate the character of man. Dharma comes from the Divine and leads you to the Divine.

SWASTIKASAN, SUKHASAN AND VAJRASAN

Swami Sivananda
"Swastika" means 'prosperous' in Sanskrit. This Asan brings prosperity and success to the practitioner. Hence this pose bears the name Swastikasan. Sit on the seat. Stretch the legs. Bend the right leg at the knee and keep the heel against the groin of the left thigh so that the sole will be lying in close touch with the thigh. Similarly bend the left leg and set it against the right groin. Insert the toes of the left leg between the right calf and thigh muscles. Now you wJl find the two feet between the calf and thigh muscles. This is very comfortable for meditation. Keep the hands as instructed in Padmasan SUKHASAN An easy, comfortable sitting posture for Japa and meditation is Sukhasan, the important point being the head, neck and the trunk should be in a line without any curve. VAJRASAN Kneel down. Sit on the heels, spine erect.

Love is the greatest healing power in this world. Love of God really means love of
humanity.
Swami Chidananda
The sage is without hatred, and loves all. Firm in his resolution, he is yet possessed of the tenderest compassion. While wanting nothing for himself, he gives joy to all..
