 श्रीचन्द्र कवचं
अस्य श्री चन्द्र कवचस्य । गौतम ऋषिः । अनुष्टुप् छन्दः । श्री चन्द्रो देवता । चन्द्र प्रीत्यर्थे जपे विनियोगः ॥


ध्यानं

समं चतुर्भुजं वन्दे केयूर मकुटोज्वलम् ।
वासुदेवस्य नयनं शङ्करस्य च भूषणम् ॥
एवं ध्यात्वा जपेन्नित्यं शशिनः कवचं शुभम् ॥


अथ चन्द्र कवचम्

शशी पातु शिरोदेशं भालं पातु कलानिधिः ।
चक्षुषी चन्द्रमाः पातु श्रुती पातु निशापतिः ॥ 1 ॥

प्राणं क्षपकरः पातु मुखं कुमुदबान्धवः ।
पातु कण्ठं च मे सोमः स्कन्धे जैवातृकस्तथा ॥ 2 ॥

करौ सुधाकरः पातु वक्षः पातु निशाकरः ।
हृदयं पातु मे चन्द्रो नाभिं शङ्करभूषणः ॥ 3 ॥

मध्यं पातु सुरश्रेष्ठः कटिं पातु सुधाकरः ।
ऊरू तारापतिः पातु मृगाङ्को जानुनी सदा ॥ 4 ॥

अब्धिजः पातु मे जङ्घे पातु पादौ विधुः सदा ।
सर्वाण्यन्यानि चाङ्गानि पातु चन्द्रोखिलं वपुः ॥ 5 ॥


फलश्रुतिः
एतद्धि कवचं दिव्यं भुक्ति मुक्ति प्रदायकम् । यः पठेच्छृणुयाद्वापि सर्वत्र विजयी भवेत् ॥ 6 ॥

Goutam is the rushi, Anushtup is chanda, Chandra is Devata, and it is recited for Chandra devata.
1 Chandra Devata is having four hands. Chandra has worn throne of peacocks feathers. Vasudeo and Shri Shankar have honored Chandra.
2 I bow to Chandra and start reciting Chandra Kavacham.
Let My head be protected by Shasi. Let my forehead be protected by Kalanidhi.
3 Let my eyes be protected by Chandrama Let my ears be protected by Nlshapati. Let my Prana be protected by kshapakara, Let my mouth be protected by Kumudbandhava.
4 Let my throat be protected by Soma. Let my shoulders be protected by Jaivatruka. Let my arms be protected by Sudhakara. Let my breast be protected by Nishakara
5 Let my Heart be protected by Chandra. Let my navel be protected by ShankarBhushana. Let my middle part of the body be protected by Surashrestha. Let my loins be protected by Sudhakara
6 Let my kukshi be protected by Tarapati. Let my knees be always protected by Mruganka. Let Private parts of the body be protected by Abdhaja. Let my feet be protected by Vidhu.
7 Let all other parts of my body be protected by Chandra. Whosoever recites or hears this pious Chnadra kavacham every day with faith in mind will be victorious in all his endeavors by the grace of Moon. This kavacham gives us everything and it makes us free from bondage of life also.
