CONDUCT AND CHARACTER

Conduct is personal behaviour. Character expresses itself as conduct. Conduct reveals the character of man. Conduct is the outer expression of character. Conduct and character are inseparable from each other. The sum total of one's virtues forms one's character. Build your character by cultivation of virtues. Every action affects the character of man,

Do not do any act which does not bring good to others or that act for which you will feel ashamed after doing. Do such acts which are praiseworthy and which bring good to others. This is the brief description of right conduct, highest Dharma.

A Sannyasin is one whose life is based upon supreme Tyaga, upon perfect desirelessness.
He has to give up all desire for this gross, physical, external world; even the desire for highest
enjoyment in heaven. From a blade of grass to highest Brahman, all is dust for a Sannyasin. He rises
above them and asserts his Atmic nature. His life is, therefore, based upon renunciation. He does
not bestow too much attention upon his physical body, whether it is praised or censured, respected
or ill-treated. He ever strives to dwell in the consciousness of the Atman. Reflect over the above and
judge what you are.
