MESSAGE FOR CONTEMPLATION,250
Radhe krishna,
Good morning and have a blessed day,
PRACTICE OF CONCENTRATION
Swami Sivananda Fixing the mind on some object either within the body or without, and keeping it there steadily for some time is called CONCENTRATION. While doing concentration purify the mind first and the ethical perfection is also a matter of paramount importance. Attention also plays an important part, in concentration. No violent effort should be made in concentration. Always practise it gently and also daily. Withdraw the senses from the objects, visualise the object of concentration very clearly even in its absence.
Feel that God works through your hands, sees through your eyes, hears through your ears. You will become a changed being. You will have a new angle of vision. You will enjoy the Supreme Bliss.
- Swami Sivananda
But this is not all. A thing may be amoral. It is not unfavourable but neither is it favourable. Can you then, in your daily life and sadhana, give a place to such a thing? Here is required another step in this process of discrimination. It is not unfavourable-it is amoral-but is it necessary?Should you clutter your life with unnecessary, avoidable things?
Swami Chidananda.
