MESSAGE FOR CONTEMPLATION.160
Radhe krishna,
Good morning and have a blessed day,
BONDAGE AND LIBERATION
Swami Sivananda Identifying the Atman or the Supreme Self with this non-self,—this is bondage of man; that is due to ignorance and brings in its train the miseries of birth and death. It is the mistaking of transitory things as real that constitutes bondage. Identify yourself with the all-pervading, immortal Atman—this is emancipation which bestows eternal bliss, supreme peace and Immortality. If the mind is attached to objects of this world, this is bondage. If it is unattached, this is liberation. Where there are likes and dislikes, there 'is bondage; where there are neither likes nor dislikes, there is liberation. Where there is the little self-arrogating "I," there is bondage; where there is no "I," there is liberation. Know this to be the Truth.
May his benedictions and glance of grace instil in us a sympathy and an understanding ofthe problems ofsadhakas;and, above all, may it bring before us the necessity to generate fromwithin ourselves a great perseverance, a powerful determination and a firm resolution. For these areour friends and assets on this rugged path. It is not only rugged, it is arduous. It is not a short cut, buta lengthy, continuous journey unto the last.
Swami Chidananda.
Krishna was a person of great enjoyments. Vasishtha was devoted to rituals. Janaka was a king. Jadabharata was looking like an idiot. Suka was renowned for his dispassion. Vyasa was busy in teaching and writing. But all these are regarded as equal in knowledge. Different forms serve different purposes, but their essential being is one. - Swami Krishnananda.
Chant the Maha Mantra
