THE TWO AXES OF SELF-KNOWLEDGE

Man cannot know himself save through meditation, through a deep dive
into the calm chambers of the heart and a direct glance at the mirror
of life within. To have a comprehensive understanding of what we are,
we must impress on our mind the two facts, viz., the existence of the
Eternal Reality, and the radical unity of all manifestations from star
to mineral form, from inanimate nature to organised life.
Entertain good and sublime thoughts and divine thoughts. Shut your
mind from evil thoughts just as you shut your doors against the
approach of enemies, thieves and dacoits. Always perform good actions.
Evil cannot enter your mind now.

What could be the motivation for such beings to continue to act when
there is no longer any
need to act when they have attained everything and are in a state of
supreme plenitude and peace?
What does the Indian spiritual genius have to say about the heart of
these great ones? It says that if at
all one could attribute to them any desire of you want an explanation
from your point of
view óthen you can say that they do have one thought, one intention,
one desire, and that is that all
sincere seeking souls who are in quest of the Goal Supreme may attain
that goal, that they may be in
the same state in which they are.

To day the 1st june is the sannyas anniversay Of sadgurudev swami
sivananda.So swami chidananda said "Gurudev is renunciation-incarnate.
By striving our humble best to embody in ourselves even partially a
few aspects at least of his ideal life, we shall be fittingly of
observing this great occasion of his Sannyas Anniversary."
