7. EQUANIMITY & 8. FIXITY

EQUANIMITY – Be calm. Bear patiently insult, injury, suffering,
failures and disrespect. Be not elated by praise, pleasure, success
and honour. Look upon both with equal vision. Behave alike towards
friends and foes. Never let a thing disturb your inner peace. FIXITY –
Remember you can achieve nothing if you are fickle-minded. Do Vichara.
Choose your goal or ideal. Always remember that. Never let it go out
of your mind even for a moment.
Contentment is the richest treasure. Peace of mind is the rarest
jewel. Truthfulness is the best friend that which elevates you to
Dharma. It is Dharma that takes you to Lord.

There is a concept in the West which is applicable to the field of
heroics: ìSuccess and
victory is to those who dare.î Again: ìA coward dies a thousand times,
a brave man but once.î And
that one death comes in triumph, in success and in victory. It is the
crowning glory, and it is assured
for those who dare. More than in any other field of human endeavour,
such daring and dedication,
such defying of death itself is called for in the life spiritual.
