RAJA YOGA
Swami Sivananda Yoga means union or to join, or union with god by curbing the outstanding tendencies of the mind and thus attain the pure state of bliss by going beyond the mind. Raja yoga aims at controlling thought waves or mental modifications, and hence this yoga has been given the title of king of all Yogas. If the mental waves or thought waves subside one can attain the absolute bliss and peace, and thus one can cognize one's self to one's real self. Through the vision of the waves the existence of a lake is revealed; likewise the ripples of thought in the mind cultivate the omnipresence over others, and he considers it difficult to renounce power and position; but a real Raja Yogi will never misuse powers and will always command in the true sense and spirit of service and self-sacrifice. True Bhakti can arise only in a pure heart that has emptied itself of all desires, knowing that the value of the entire world is cipher. - Swami Chidananda.
