MESSAGE FOR CONTEMPLATION 184
Radhe krishna,
Good morning and have a blessed day,
WHO AM I?
Swami Sivananda The organs are the products of the Gunas. They are finite, and perishable. The term "I" cannot be applied to the Prana also. Prana is inert. It is a product of Rajas. It has a beginning and an end. It cannot welcome a friend during sleep. The term "I" cannot be applied to the mind which, through its power of Sankalpa, agitates the organs. Even the mind is inert. It is goaded on to action by the certainty of intellect. It has a beginning and an end. It is product of Sattva-Guna. The intellect is not "I," because it is in turn galvanised by Ahamkara or egoism. The intellect also is a product of Sattva-Guna. A product is perishable. Ahamkara is not the real "I." It is the inert seat of the Jiva or the individual soul. … The spiritual path is question of supply and demand. If the demand is there in the form of constant aspiration and remembrance of God, the supply in the form of guidance, protection, peace and joy in bound to manifest itself. - Swami Chidananda.
