MENTAL RELAXATION
https://sekhar789.blogspot.Swami Sivananda Just as relaxation of muscles is necessary after finishing physical exercise, in the same way relaxation of the mind is equally important after concentration and meditation. The aspirant should expel fear, worry and anger. Let him think of courage, joy, bliss, peace and cheerfulness. Sit for 15 minutes in a relaxed state, withdrawing the mind from outside objects. Think you are an ocean of bliss and peace, and rotate the mind again and again on the sublime ideas. Close your eyes and think of your real self and when you open your eyes you will experience immense mental peace, mental vigour and mental strength. This can be done at any time, at any place and as many times as one chooses. The tension of the mind will be averted and the mind will enjoy rest and that will bring rest to the body as well; because, the mind and body are intimately connected to each other or in other words body, is the mould prepared by mind. Happy is the man who attains right understanding, discrimination and wisdom.

He speaks, therefore, of the preyo marga which is merely pleasant and the sreyo marga which may appear hard but where in lies our highest good. And the wise sadhaka, endowed with viveka, always discriminates between the two. He rejects the merely pleasant which will lead nowhere or perhaps lead to grief; and, even though seemingly difficult, not so attractive, chooses the direction that will take him upward, Godward, towards the fruition and successful attainment of the spiritual Goal.
