SATYA

Swami SivanandaIf you speak the truth at all times, you will be freed from cares, worries, and anxieties. You will have good sleep. You will enjoy peace. Satya is the important sentinel at the door of Moksha. If you are established in Satya, you will develop all the divine virtues such as courage, non-violence, purity, self-restraint, tolerance, etc. This sentinel will introduce you to and enable you to make friendship with peace, contentment, humility and serenity

If you take one step towards God, He comes ten steps to meet.

Jagat Guru Adi Sankaracharya put this truth in a very touching way in one of hiscompositions when he appeals to the Divine Mother for Her grace by concluding the ending line ofeach verse saying: ìIn this world, unworthy and bad sons there may be, but never a bad mother.îThat is the hope aspect of manís relationship with God. That is the positive, assuring and upliftingaspect of manís relationship to God. He is your constant companion. He is also your all-knowing,inner, indwelling witness. But, nevertheless, He is also your guide, friend and philosopher.
